A Fresh Start?

The past month has been a very interesting one. I feel I've learned a lot about myself and the people around me, hell even the world around me. I've become to appreciate things I didn't once before, simple things, things we don't really notice but we live with everyday. Like, the fresh morning air, the heat lightening over the bay, even that first stretch in the morning when you hit every spot just right. You know what else is nice? Night swimming.

I've noticed a change in myself recently that, I'm starting to like. I've become more self-confident in who I am as a person, I feel like I'm growing up, crossing over that new line in life. It's a really great feeling because, I'm no longer scared of it. I'm excited about it, it's the start of my adult life. This is where it begins, finding another Job to help support me and someone else, then eventually I'll live on my own with friends.

Listening to a full album lately has been quite difficult for me, I haven't had the attention span to do it. The past couple weeks however, I've been listening to a lot of Electronic music. You know what's a really good album? Four Tet - Rounds. I highly recommend it. For some reason certain electronic music has been filling that void that I've been feeling lately, it's what I've been searching for in my journey of music discovery. I think I'm going to expand on it and build a nice collection of albums. I hope every bit of it will be enjoyable.

A lot of big changes are happening, this time it's good. I wasted a lot of time the past few months thinking about a girl whom I thought, big things could happen. Now I know it probably never will, and I'm okay with that. She is a wonderful person but, I know her all too well. I would end up getting the shitty end of the stick eventually so, it's best to avoid that scenario all together. One thing I learned recently too is that, everyone has their stuff. Stuff no one knows about, stuff we hide in fear of criticism. We also have our own special way of acting, we all have our pros and cons, we're all just people trying to live their lives. So, why make it harder on anyone else when, you wouldn't wish that upon yourself?

To wrap this up, I found a quote online. When I read it, it felt like it was something I could live by. Here it is: "Give every man thine ear, but few thy voice." - William Shakespeare.
